Nine NAHA Players & Alum at USA Hockey Festival

79 Players from across the US vie for spots on the National Teams

 Colorado Springs, Colo. - Nine current members and alumnae of NAHA women's ice hockey are set to participate in the 2011 USA Hockey Women's National Festival at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn. from August 10-20.

Representing NAHA are Brooke and Brittany Ammerman (Wisconsin), Mary Restuccia (Boston College), Kasey Boucher (Boston University) and Amanda Pelkey (University of Vermont) in the USA National Select Team tryouts and Kaliya Johnson, Annie Pankowski, Paige Savage and Megan Miller (Boston College) in the tryouts for the USA U18 Team.

“I’m extremely proud of these players who have given themselves a chance to compete at the next level," NAHA Coach Jesse Driscoll said.  "It’s exciting for NAHA to have so many involved with the USA Hockey program and I wish them well at the tryout!”

The Hawks are among 79 athletes vying for a spot on the 2011 U.S. Women's Select Team and Under-18 Select Teams.  Select Team members will compete in the IIHF Eights Nations Tournament in Viermäki, Finland from August 24-31.  The U-18 Select Team will meet Canada in a three-game series beginning on August 18 in Rockland, Ontario.
