NAHA White wins JWHL Playoff Crown in Madison!

NAHA White entered the 2011 JWHL Playoffs as the #1 seed based on the regular season results, and went 4-0 to regain the JWHL Cup. The playoffs were hosted by the University of Wisconsin, and all ten JWHL teams came to Madison for the playoffs.

NAHA opened the first game of the weekend against the Boston Shamrocks, winning 7-2. Shamrock goalie Madi Litchfield was outstanding throughout the game. Second game pitted NAHA against defending JWHL Champs, Warner. Warner got out to a 2-1 lead at the end of the first, then the Hawks found their legs, going 3 for 7 on the power play to a 10-2 final. Third up was Eastern Divisions NSA. In the only game of the weekend that NAHA got off to a quick start and the first lead in the game, NAHA peppered the NSA goale en route to a 7-1 win.

Playing some of the best team hockey of the year, NAHA would meet the Edge School in the finals. Edge got knocked off in the first round in an exciting shootout by Pacific, but with the unique playoff format which weighted regular season standings, Edge got into the Quarters and posted wins over Pride and Balmoral on the way to the Finals. Edge got off to a quick start going up 1-0 and it was 2-1 Edge at the end of the second period. Finding one last burst and playing a great puck possession game in the 3rd, NAHA got two goals, and finished up with an empty net goal for a 5-2 Championship win, bringing the JWHL Cup back to NAHA.
