NAHA joins with USA Hockey to promote the girls' game!

NAHA joins USA Hockey, the International Ice Hockey Federation and our home arena the Jay Peak Resort's Ice Haus by supporting World Girls’ Hockey Day by hosting local events at the Ice Haus. Events are planned for both Saturday and Sunday as NAHA cancelled original plans to open with a tournament this weekend to remain at home and support this initiative- it’s about community service, and giving back to our sport. Great lessons for the girls to kick off the year!

NAHA kicked off the weekend with international games with a team from Drummondville Quebec, Elites de l'Estrie v our Red team. They met in a morning game won by NAHA Red 5-0 and then Estrie had a nice relaxing lunch at Jay Peak's Ice Haus. A few of the Estrie team were regulars at the NAHA summer camps, so it was a fun renunion with the players, and some of the dads who were the coaches. The afternoon match saw Estrie wake up, as the won 4-1, a great international friendship weekend! Later Saturday NAHA hosted a disco skate at the Ice Haus and met many young female skaters from the community. Sunday saw NAHA put on an inter-squad scrimmage with the teams mixed with Red and White players as they honed their systems and play for 'real' games next weekend, and then hosted a Meet and Greet with the community. All in all, a great weekend for Girls' Hockey in the USA, and a big shout out and thank you to the Jay Peak Resort @jaypeakresort.

Here are press releases from USA Hockey and the Jay Peak Resort on the plans:
