The 10th Annual Labor Day Tournament crowns U17 & U19 champs

The 10th Annual NAHA Labor Day tournament saw 35 teams descend on the Burlington VT area to compete in the U17 and U19 Divisions. Teams from as far away as British Columbia, as far south as Washington DC and as far north as Calgary kicked off their seasons at this college recruiting showcase. Over 100 college coaches came to see the teams and players, representing almost every US College and many Canadian colleges as well.

The finals concluded Sunday at the University of Vermont's Gutterson Fieldhouse. In the U17 Division Assabet Valley and the Ottawa Senators had a great game. The action was from one end to the other with Ottawa's Stacy Galasso getting the game winner in a 2-1 final. The U19 finals saw Little Caesars and NAHA White meet, a matchup that reunites a lot of old friends. Caesars got off to a quick 2-0 lead, but NAHA clawed back to 2-2 where it stayed for a long stretch, both NAHA goals scored by Paige Savage and both assisted by Bailey Wright. With the clock ticking down, Tori Hickel tipped a shot from Toni Ann Miano, into the top corner for the win, the first time NAHA has  won this tournament!
