NAHA helped me with my college choices, and I chose U Minnesota-Duluth,
where I've been on two National Championship teams. I was selected
to the U.S. Under-22 Team that participated in Montreal, Quebec
against Canada's U-22. In November, my dream of making the 2006
Olympic Team took one giant step when I traveled to Skovde, Sweden
to play with the 2003 U.S. Select National Team. I honestly believe
that none of this would have come about if I had not attended NAHA
I hope it has been illustrated that a good program not only needs
elite athletes, but also an elite coach. Bill Driscoll knows hockey,
defensively, offensively, and in detail. As young adults and students
of the game, young women need exceptional coaching and mentors.
NAHA has both in Bill Driscoll. Bill will help any player who shows
interest in being the best they can be. |

"Once
I heard about the opportunity to come down here with the elite coaching
and to play at a high level, I jumped on it. It's been everything
and more than I expected."
"Back home there were 35 kids in a class. If I wanted extra
help I had to go after school. Here I work one on one with
my teachers, get to really know them and get all the help I need.
It's done wonders for my grades." |

"I
can't thank you enough for a fantastic experience. I was looking
forward to coming to NAHA for a year, and it was everything and
more than I expected. You worked so hard for us, on preparing and
searching for colleges, and I have to tell you I am so excited to
be at Northeastern- it's the perfect fit for me. Thanks, I'll always
be part of NAHA!!" |

In
reflecting on my time at NAHA, there are nothing but positives.
I trained away from home, and in doing this, I realized I was
capable of attending a college far away from home. It honestly
opened many doors for me that had never even crossed my mind.
When I began telling my parents where I was considering playing
hockey in college (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Cornell), they were
ecstatic. Had I not attended the Academy, I don't believe
that my goal of playing Division I hockey would have been realized
in such a way.
I
came to NAHA having no direction for college, and now I am a junior
at Harvard, which was last year's runner-up to Duluth in the Division
I Frozen Four National Tournament. I could not think of
a better position I could be in, except actually winning Nationals,
but this is our year for that milestone. I have
Bill and his program to thank for my development, both as a hockey
player and a person. He helped change my life.

"There
isn't much hockey for me at home and my goal is to play Division
I college, and at as high a level as I can. NAHA has been great
for me- I can be at home in the fall and spring, with my family
and friends, pursue other sports, and also have a chance to reach
for my dreams. The hockey is fantastic, the coaching far above anything
I've been exposed to, and my teammates are tremendous. There is
no question this was the best decision I ever made and I'd love
to talk to anyone who is thinking about NAHA. It's been great." |
