NAHA opened the first period with a plan to possess the puck and make the game fast,
both on entries into the zone, and when cycling opportunities were presented. The line of
Britt Ammerman, Kayla Colang and Lindsay Mitchell found success in that plan early, and
put NAHA up early. The second period saw a bit of a let down in NAHA's intensity, but
continued to dominate in time of possession and shots, although trading goals with
Berkshire in the period. The third period of the Championship game saw NAHA open on
the power play after a nasty major to a Berkshire D for a check into the goal post. NAHA
capitalized with two goals to put the game out of reach, as they won the Cushing
Tournament for the second year in a row. Nikki Parks was solid in the goal, showing
strong control of her rebounds as the NAHA D gave her good looks at the puck.
Congratulations to Cushing Tournament MVP Mary Restuccia, and NAHA representatives
on the All-Tournament Team, Lindsay Mitchell and Candace Molle.
